21 Illegal Workers Detained at Thai Border Checkpoint

Banteay Meanchey: 21 Cambodian nationals were arrested on Monday around 6:50 pm by joint police forces at the Kbal Tumnup border checkpoint. The police authorities cooperated with the Malai district military operation force at Deum Thnong target point in Kbal Tumnup village, O’Sampor commune, Malai district.

According to the Commander of the 815th Border Guard Battalion, Colonel Suong Sao, 21 people were arrested, including seven women. The twenty-one people came from five different provinces in Cambodia, including three from Banteay Meanchey, seven from Kampong Thon, three from Battambang, seven from Tbong Khmum and one person from Kampot province.

The commander confirmed that after the prevention, the detained ones were brought in the police heard quarters for interrogation and signed a confession term that will be a handed over to the specialized section of the Malai District Police Inspectorate for further legal actions
